Nancy's Headshot

After I got out of the Air Force,  I became a freelance photographer. As my skills developed and my confidence grew, I decided that wedding photography would be the most challenging and most rewarding, so that's the path I took.   Since then,  I have photographed more than 3,000+ weddings.  I love the wedding business and I was ready for a new challenge.  I received my license to officiate weddings in 1999. I was marrying couples at nearly every venue in Missouri and Kansas.  I really wanted to have my own space, so in  2014 I opened my first wedding chapel across the street from the Historic Truman Courthouse in Independence, Missouri.  The experience was so amazing that I opened another wedding chapel in Overland Park, KS.

The wedding business has given me many blessings. It has given me the opportunity to meet such amazing couples.  I would say some of the biggest blessings and opportunities that have come my way have been marrying our beloved Royals catcher, Salvidore Perez and his beautiful wife Gabi.  I married them first in Independence and then in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.  Boy do they know how to throw a party.  In, 2019, KC Weddings 2 Go was one of three small businesses in the United States selected to receive a Super Bowl commercial. The crew came to Independence and filmed the commercial and it was such an amazing experience. The commercial was very funny and I thought it turned out great.  I also was honored to receive the key to the city of Independence and February 3rd was declared Pastor Nancy Day.

I look forward to more opportunities to collaborate with our wedding couples to make their dreams come true. That will continue to be my greatest joy.

Janes Headshot

Jane

I was born and raised in Des Moines  Iowa. I moved to Missouri 20 years ago to begin working with Nancy as her Office Manager. My duties included shooting and editing wedding videos and  photoshopping Nancy's pictures. Nancy mentored and encouraged me to try my hand at photographing a wedding. I conquered my fear and I have now photographed over 100 weddings. My next dream was to perform wedding ceremonies. I received my  wedding officiant license and I have never looked back. I enjoy adding a personal touch to the weddings I officiate by incorporating a special story shared with me by the couple.

I've got the best job in the world.  It is such an honor to be a small part of a couple's big day.  Also, working with my BFF is icing on the wedding cake!
